Ultimate Friends

We thought you might want to see some of the friends that we've been making here in Colorado. Last night we went out to the high school down the way and played Ultimate Frisbee for awhile. It has been such an amazing encouragement to be here hanging out and fellowshipping with people who are in the same place in life. To be around all of these folks who think "of course I'm going on a mission to XYZ. God called so I'm listening." Kelly and I have felt so tremendously encouraged by all of you but there is something unique about being around people who are experiencing much of what we are experiencing. God is so good! The picture represents not quite half of the folks that are here at this training. Most of the folks that aren't in the picture are a bit older and have families here with them.



So what have we been doing besides this? Each day we have about 6 hours of class that includes lectures and workshops where we practice forming sounds that are not in the English language. We have been doing quite a bit of study in phonetics and linguistics which has been very interesting. I have found myself extremely challenged by all of it because for me it is HARD! But, it is easy to see how this will be helpful as we work to learn Spanish.



We would love continued prayer for:



1) Sleep. I have not been sleeping very well here (I think Kelly has had more success than me.) It is safe to say that typically sleeping is one area that I am very gifted in but I have had mostly restless nights so prayer for that would be much appreciated.



2) Focus. 6 hours of class each day can be exhausting - it's the firehose in the mouth syndrome. So, pray that we would find energy to focus as all of it is important.



3) Finances. God really blessed us with good news a couple of nights ago in this area but we still need about $450 a month more. So, we're closer but not yet there.
