clothing
You know, life down here can be downright hilarious at times. One of my favorite funny things is how often I see people wearing clothing that has writing on it in English, that I think they don't know what it means. So below, is the list that I've compiled over the last couple of months. Nearly every single one I've witnessed first hand. Nearly every one has caused me laughter because of the apparent cluelessness of the wearer. Also, none of these came from our villages, just Barahona proper and the beach.
Without further ado, the first installment of "What did that shirt say?!" (In no particular order):
- "Ride it like you stole it" - worn by an elderly woman.
- "Whoop there it is!"
- "Procrastinators unite tomorrow!"
- "Dip me in beer and throw me to the drunk chicks" - worn by a very wonderful Christian lady who was proud to show off her shirt that has English on it.
- "Hit It" - written across the backside of the shorts a man was wearing at the beach.
- A Knicks jersey - does this need any commentary?
- A Boy Scout Pack 53 uniform complete with merit badges.
- "Drunk Chicks Love Me!" - worn by a very elderly Concho driver.
- [Front] the symbol for recycling. [Back] "I only throw away boys"
- [Front] "LHS Junior" [Back] "Amber '07" - homemade and worn by a high school boy.
- "Best Tail In Town - Juniper, Florida"
- "No Fear" socks
- "Long Island Junior Bowlers Association" - worn by a man who looked about 60 years old.
- "This Is What 40 Looks Like" - worn by a 15 year old boy.
- "Keatley"

Oh please tell me the Keatley shirt was worn by a local Dominican that you saw at the beach at a totally random moment...that would be hilarious! Nichelle
I am with Nichelle! Please say that there are Dominican's who wear their Keatley shirts as much as you two do!
