Road Trip: Third Stop

Driving from Martinez to Vegas took about 11 hours but we made it just in time to go catch a great seafood buffet with Grandma Lue and Grandpa Don. It was so good to catch up a bit over dinner before heading back to the house and crashing for the night. The next morning, Grandpa Don and I went out and did a bit of errands while Kel and Grandma Lue got their day up and going. When we got back, the four of us headed out for a tour of the Ethel M Chocolate Factory (theme?) and then a stunning drive through Red Rocks Canyon. Honestly, Vegas might be best known for the Strip but Red Rocks Canyon should be tops on everyone's list. Spectacular! That night we had dinner at home, looked at pictures together and then went out for the Freemont Street Experience. The FSE is best described as a gigantic non-projection movie screen that is overhead spanning nearly 4 blocks in the downtown area. Each hour they play a 6 minute animation style video while all the casinos shut off their lights. It was a sight to see that's for sure! The next morning we got up and out the door quite early (about 7am) and headed for Denver...
